Reginald L. Speight
“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way”
Reginald, affectionately known as “Reggie” is a native Washingtonian from the Northwest section of Washington, DC. He is the oldest son of Willie Mae Speight, has one younger brother, Ricky Speight and graduated from Dunbar Senior High School in 1987. Reginald has been happily married for 13 years to his beautiful wife, Andrea McConnell-Speight, a Hampton University graduate. From this union, Reginald and Andrea are the proud parents of Jordan Renee’, age 13 and Reggi Janelle, age 8. Currently, Reginald and his beautiful family resides in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Reginald is an energetic and goal-oriented businessman with 20 years of experience in business development, marketing and sales. He has a genuine passion for sales strategy and a well-rounded background in supporting and developing organizations by optimizing performance and revenue growth. As an astute communicator and presenter, Reginald is adept at establishing rewarding relationships to benefit business development. His passion to serve others is evident as the Co-Founder of 3e Youth Services. As the lead liaison, Reginald addressed critical issues with youth in Washington, DC while forming coalitions for advancing youth achievement, youth leadership and youth outreach. His enthusiasm to help others led him to initiate a campaign called “Distinctive Love 4 Youth” and collaborated with other organizations to benefit over 600 displaced & homeless youths in Washington, DC. Reginald has led forums to convey a transparent message of investing in and advocating for tomorrow’s leaders.
Throughout his professional career, Reginald has led students, parents, teachers, administrators and seasoned professionals to achieve extraordinary results under challenging circumstances. Essential to his proven track record is Reginald’s ability to successfully navigate internal and external political environments while partnering with community stakeholders to achieve common goals and positively influence team members to support initiatives despite pushback. After obtaining his B.S. in Marketing from Delaware State University, Reginald’s desire to give back to the community led him to a career in education. Reginald has tirelessly volunteered his time to support youth, coach football, boys & girls outdoor track, drill team and directed singing.

Delaware State College Alumnus: Event Planner Extraordinaire
Hosted and/or has been an integral part of planning many events, parties and celebrations throughout his matriculation at Delaware State and during his adult life. Reginald’s passion for event planning was first introduced to him by his mother. He learned at an early age how events bring people together not only for entertainment and fun but to benefit others as well.
Reginald’s 40th birthday celebration was a fundraiser to raise money for Back to School supplies for Homeless Youth in Washington, D.C. The celebration took place at BLT Steakhouse Restaurant on the rooftop overlooking the White House in Washington, D.C. Reginald’s fundraiser provided school supplies for over 75 homeless/displaced youth in Washington D.C.
Pinnacle Moment in Event Planning – Reginald was a partner in charge of online and social media marketing for the “Victory” Inaugural Ball on January 21, 2013, celebrating President Barack Obama’s 2nd election term. Live performances by Maxwell, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Musiq Soulchild and Secret Society. The Victory Inaugural Ball took place at The Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. The event was sponsored by Positive Business Women, Inc.

John Barber III M.B.A.
Central High School, Delaware State University Graduate, Chief Development Officer -The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia
John Barber III, MBA joined The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia as Chief
Development Officer on November 7, 2016. As CDO his responsibilities include championing
strategic priorities and facilitating key partnerships while securing private funding to support the
programmatic efforts of the School District of Philadelphia. This role requires the CDO to serve
as an ambassador in the local and national philanthropic community and assist in furthering the
engagement of alumni to support public schools. An accomplished professional, he brings over
20 years of financial and grants experience.
John formerly served as Chief Financial Officer for the Urban League of Philadelphia where he
assumed a significant role in building on the Urban League mission of empowering minorities
through education, employment, entrepreneurship and advocacy.
Prior to joining the ULP, Barber managed financial services for the Office of Non-public
Programs of the School District of Philadelphia. In that role, he was responsible for coordinating
and overseeing budgeting activities; monitoring the development and balancing of the operating
budgets; analyzing cost and identifying available funds; as well as additional financial support in
related areas. His past positions with the School District of Philadelphia include Deputy
Executive Director of Grants Compliance, System Sustainability Manager of Compliance, and
Financial Coordinator for the GEAR UP Grant. Barber was also a Member of the Grants
Governance Committee, responsible for securing available resources for enriching educational
opportunities for students in line with the mission and goals of the School District of
Barber’s diverse background includes entertainment and entrepreneurship. He serves as CEO
of Come Kleen Productions Ltd (a Philadelphia based experiential marketing and entertainment
production Company est. 1994). In 2007, he along with his brother Jerry (Delaware State Alum),
co-founded Barber Finance, LLC to assist artists and small businesses with effectively managed
finances. While employed by the School District of Philadelphia from 2009 to 2015 he served as
Chapter Board Governor for The Recording Academy –Philadelphia Chapter (2010-2012). His
love for Philadelphia as well as his desire to be impactful in the music industry cultivated his
leadership and management skills and ultimately prepared him for his professional financial
A graduate of Philadelphia’s Central High School 244th class, he was committed to academic
excellence and this attitude of success transferred to sports as an accomplished three sport
athlete. Recruited by a list of schools including Cornell, University of Delaware, Delaware State
and Penn State (partial scholarship), Barber followed in his father’s footsteps and attended
Delaware State College where he obtained a B.S. in Business Administration and earned his
M.B.A in Business and Finance from Delaware State University. An accomplished athlete,
Barber won 4 MEAC championships (Div. 1-AA) and was elected captain of the 1989 team. He
played his final year as a Graduate Student working towards his M.B.A. and was the first football
player to play and complete his post-secondary studies. In 2015 Barber’s 1985 championship
team was inducted into the Universities Hall of Fame where he accomplished his dream of
joining his father with this prestigious honor. In September 2017 John was honored as one of
Philadelphia’s top 50 Influencers by 100 Black Men, The National Urban League, and Black
Friday, October 13th and Saturday, October 14th
